I have been using the new tide pods. They are gel tablets like dish washer tablets. They seem to smell nice, but I wonder if they get laundry as clean as liquid tide. When I did a big load of sheets and towels the other day, I put 2 tablets in to make sure the laundry got clean. Just wondered if anybody else uses these new tide pods.
I just started using them, I really like them. I use just one on a full load of jeans and they came out clean and smelled great. I like easy, lol!
I do love how they smell, but when I washed a big load of shorts, I ended up using 3 of them. They don't make my clothes smell as good as just plain old original liquid Tide or Wisk.
I'd only use one. There's a lot of cleaning power in something like that.
I know one company also makes washer sheets, and those are what I prefer to use. The cleaning gel is activated when it hits the water, and then when the cycle is done, the sheet becomes a simple dryer sheet by heat.
I have not used them yet, but as soon as the tide I have is gone I am going to try those. I asked my mom about them and if they get the clothes as clean and she says they work great.
I haven't tried this kind specifically. Maybe I should. The one time I tried detergent tablets, I was not impressed. It dissolved just fine if I was using hot or warm water, but not cold. I had little granules in my clothes. Yuck. But maybe if these are gell pods, that would not be a problem.
My wife who is sighted, thinks they work great. Typically, this includes washing the dirt and mess out of the clothes of 4 little girls all under the age of 8 so, I'd say they work fairly well. She did tell me last time to drop two of them in with a larger load that included towels and swim suits ETC.
I'm trying those this year at college. I used the sheets before, but can't find them in stores anymore, so trying the pods.
i so love them. they smell hella yummy. i also find you don't use as much laundry soap. it's already measured in a pod, so you don't ten to over do it.
not sure if these are what the original poster is talking about, but I use detergent drops that work wonders.
I haven't used them..do you know if you can only use them in a high eficent washer or a reg. one?
What's the price of the pods compared to the regular Tide? I would guess you get fewer loads for a higher price compared to the traditional Tide... though, from those of you who use them, it sounds like it is worth the convenience.
they're definitely more pricey, but, yes, it's worth it.
as far as I know, it doesn't matter what kind of washer you use them in.
now that i've gone to the pods i will never go back. i don't remember the price but i got like over 30 pods in a bag, and it's so easy. grab a pod and toss it in. No spills or drips.
yeah. I don't remember the exact number you get, but they definitely aren't stingy. it's more than 40 a pack, for sure.
oh very cool that's good! Do you know if they have an unscented kind? as I don't like real strong smells.
I just started using the Tide pods, and I love them. I was right, since they are gel tablets, they dissolve just fine. They smell good, and they seem to get my clothes as clean as normal liquid detergent. Like Miss M said, I would not use more than one of these. Also M, I have a friend who loves those washer sheets you mentioned. Maybe I'll try those when I'm done with these pods, but I'm really liking these so far. To the original poster, thanks for putting this thread up here.
UniqueOne, they hardly smell at all.
oh cool! How much do you guys pay for these? Will have to check these out as I'm running low. Thanks for posting this! :)
I have started using them and love them. Yes you can use them in any washer. I have an H E washer and they work great in there.
I bought the 70 count and it was $15 at Dollar General but you can usually find a coupon for them for $2 off. Just Google coupons and Tide pods and they will come up.
